Slow and steady.

Well, I've hit the 5,000 mark, on pageviews.

So, what have I been up to, lately?

Movies!

Transformers 2
I liked it. Yeah, it's mostly metal clanging violent fun, with an editing snafu in the last battle, where Devastator is doing his own thing, while his parts are ALSO fighting in the mayhem below. Still, I enjoyed it for what it is.

G Force
It's a kids movie.
It's not worth seeing in 3D.
It's not worth paying theater prices to see.
There is little to nothing to engage adults.
(think Spy Kids)
Still, my daughter liked it.

Panyo
A very cute movie.
Wierd... but cute, none-the-less.
I extremely enjoyed this movie.

Harry Potter
OK, I finally got out to see this one.
No, I'm not a Harry Potter fan.
No, I haven't read the books.
No, I'm not going to read the books.
The first time I ever saw anything Harry Potter, was at a store, in the kids aisle, where there was a WALL of Harry Potter toys, kits and random kiddie stuff. I thought it was a brand name. Then I found out that there was a book series being written, with movies soon to come, and all I could think of was "sell-out". When I saw the first video game, it confirmed it.
Unfortunately, I have too many friends who have been sucked in, and I watch the movies, just to appease them... Even if they have to spend an equivalent time of the movie, AFTER the movie, to explain all of the background stuff that was left out, just to make it make sense.
OK, I admit, it's an intricate story with well thought out, detailed, characters. I would probably enjoy reading the books, but the whole marketing sell-out revolving around kids that the books and movies were NOT written for, really gets on my nerves.
(While I really enjoyed the most recent Bat Man movie, they did the same thing, which also gets on my nerves, and messes with the experience.)

That's it, for the recent movies that I've seen.

As to movies I am looking forward to seeing...

District 9
I haven't had a chance to get out and see this one, yet. :(

9
I'm very excited about this one. Only a couple of more weeks.

The Time Traveler's Wife.
It's a story that I'm interested in seeing how it works as a movie. I'll probably wait for it to get to a "Budget" theater, or until my mother get's the DVD, before I actually see this one, though.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.
My daughter's really looking forward to this one. It looks like some silly fun.

That's about it, for now.

I hope that everyone is well.

:D

:aww:

Looks like my job's shortened work-week is done, just in time for the summer overload, so I've got about 2-3 weeks of "normal" hours to adjust to the transition from no money to no time.
